Equity PAC endorses Allison Lutz for Grand Rapids 1st Ward City Commission
On November 5th, the general election will be held for the City of Grand Rapids. Allison Lutz is a candidate running for the 1st Ward city commission seat against incumbent Jon O'Connor. Equity PAC is endorsing Allison Lutz for that election.
Following the Equity PAC candidate forum on September 16th at MUSE on the west side of Grand Rapids, Equity PAC sent out surveys for feedback from the public. After considering forum responses, survey responses, and Allison's stances on important issues such as police reform, immigration justice, affordable housing, cannabis, and representative democracy, Equity PAC firmly endorses Allison Lutz for 1st ward commissioner.
"Allison brings a people-first approach to her candidacy. She is dedicated to transparent government, police reform, and is a strong advocate for important issues such as Drivers Licenses for All. Allison aligns well with the principles of Equity PAC and would intentionally work to represent all of the people of the 1st Ward." - Russell Olmsted, Equity PAC Leader, and 1st Ward resident
Allison spoke several times at the Equity PAC candidate forum about the need to be in touch with all residents of the 1st Ward. We have seen several examples where Grand Rapids' most effective commissioners are thoughtful, responsive, and accessible. Allison fits that mold and would serve to advance more equitable policy and practice for the people of her ward.
